On the 10th of June we organized in the fourth consecutive year our supporters' tournament, first time with the participation of a foreign team, the Glasgow Rangers fans.
Last year November we established a really friendly relationship with the guys, as they had stationed in Zalaegerszeg the night before they went to Pozsony (Bratislava) to support Rangers against Artmedia in a 2-2 draw Champions League match. We had party in Alibi Pub singing Rangers and ZTE songs by turn.
And the night before our tournament the Scottish arrived again to the place of their last training after a long journey from Glasgow to Zalaegerszeg to the same pub, Alibi.
Next morning passed very quickly: arranging the "pub" tent with cold beer and food.
The teams arrived one by one. The supporters of Kaposvar had a car accident, but at last they managed to show up. 8 teams fought in two groups for the qualification. In Group A FTC, Kaposvar, Armada, Rangers and in group B Papa, Torcida, Fighters, Armada Alibi. We were very disappointed, because Sopron canceled its participation just two days before the game. The same happened to Rapid Wien supporters despite their strong will they showed in January in Stockerau, Austria. Never mind, next time. In the semi finals Armada Alibi fought against FTC and Torcida against Rangers. Unfortunately the weather was quite bad, rain, clouds, some sunshine. It was a pleasure to see that even whole families: wives and children enjoyed the event. Food was very delicious made by Landorhegy Armada Arm. Hot tasty deer goulash (pörkölt).
On the fields the matches were fair, the referees didn't have to tear the games and discipline the players.
At the end Gergely Kocsárdi, captain of ZTE, gave the prizes to the best player and teams as well (you can see below).
After the matches the event turned into a gorgeous party with DJ Alex and a karaokee show with talented singers.

Next year we will organize an even better tournament although this was a really good one. See you next year! :)
